Weather: 20ish and showers.
This morning we had a continental breakfast at the hotel at a cost
of $12.99 per person. Breakfast consists of cereal, hot drink, bread, pastries,
fruit, yoghurt and juice. After a nice breakfast with the sun shining on
us, we walked to the USS Intrepid for the 9:00am Enterprise Tour.

Our guide John was fantastic, he is a Kiwi
and those on the tour were us - Australian's and a man from the UK but was born
in Sydney. Not only did John give us a tour but he also told us which
places we needed to go first to avoid crowds.

Once the tour was completed we went onto
the 1st deck of the USS Intrepid to see the planes, a must see for hubby was
the A12 Blackbird, we continued to the flight deck to view even more planes and
space modules. We watched the video on the WW II kamikaze attacks on the
USS Intrepid which led to the death of 69 marines. We went through the captain’s
quarters and spoke with a survivor of the kamikaze attacks on the Intrepid.
We experienced most of the hands on displays and went on the flight
simulator, no fighter planes hit this time, as Justin is more of an acrobatic
flier. We went on the XD Theatre's Roller Coaster Ride, this is fun but
jars the neck at times. Shopping was next on the list of things to do
where I bought Dad a Father's Day present and a postcard for the parents.
Shopping done, we went through the inner rooms of the air craft carrier,
seeing the sleeping quarters for the marines and captains and the anchor area.
From this point we went to see the Concorde then leaving the USS Intrepid
to return to the hotel.

I had planned my clothes for the trip
based on average temperatures for this time of the year and of course the
weather was different to what I had planned. I should have had more clean
clothes appropriate for this leg of the trip but due to weather differences I
needed a laundry mat. We forgot to take the umbrella and waterproof
jackets, once the washing machine was loaded, down came the rain, quite heavily.
We sat under the awning out the front of the laundry mat using the iPhone
and iPad, luckily by the time the clothes were washed and dried the rain was
only a mist.
We had a little time up our sleeves before
going to see the comedy show so we walked around New York taking in the
cityscape. We found a bar and had a couple of drinks. Heading off
we walked to the LOL Club to see the 7:00pm comedy show. We waited around
in a hallway a couple of floors up until being called into a small room with
chairs and tables. Not the type of place I would have wanted to me if
there was a fire. The tickets state you have to buy 4 drinks in total
costing from $6.00. The comedians were funny and we did enjoy it.
The venue is old and needed a refurbishment.
